FBN: How Do These ‘Incoherent’ Occupy Wall Street Protesters Get Their Crazy Ideas?

FBN Protesters video

If it weren’t so depressing, it would be almost funny how quickly the “objective” cable news channels have fallen into line in their coverage of the Wall Street protests. On MSNBC, the protesters are heroes. On Fox News, they’re raving psychopaths. And, while we seem to already have thousands of examples of the networks in lock step formation, here’s another one courtesy of Fox Business Network! You know, just for fun!

Fox Business Anchor Gerri Willis Cuts Up Her BoA Card Up In Protest Of $5 Monthly Fee

Gerri Willis video

“Nothing and no one today has me more fired up than Bank of America,” said Fox Business Network anchor Gerri Willis this afternoon, following yesterday’s announcement that starting early next year, Bank of America will charge debit card users a $5 monthly fee. Willis reports that new caps on the fees banks can charge merchants for processing debit cards have left banks scrambling to make ends meet. But what’s she, a Bank of America costumer, got to do with that? “Well guess what? That’s not my problem,” she says.

Valerie Jarrett To Fox Business: Job Bill Will Be Paid For By ‘Closing Loopholes’

valerie jarrett

Speaking with Fox Business Network ahead of tonight’s speech, Senior Obama Advisor, Valerie Jarrett, told Peter Barnes that the President will “close loopholes” in his much anticipated jobs bill. “We need to make sure that people that are paying their fair share; that those who can most afford to pay a little bit more do,” she said, adding that, “This should not be controversial.”

Fox Business Reports On Bernie Madoff’s New Scheme: Trying To ‘Swindle’ The Media

madoff

What’s it like to be one of the country’s most hated men? It probably doesn’t feel that great. So, it’s unsurprising that Bernie Madoff is apparently using the media to rehab his reputation. Unfortunately for him, he’s not getting any help from Fox Business Network’s Charlie Gasparino who, in a new profile, doesn’t depict Madoff as the victim he seems to want to be. Instead he depicts him as, well, a guy who’s using the media to rehab his reputation.

Fox Business Network Breaks Even, And Breaks New Ground In Ratings As Markets Make Big News

Screen shot 2011-08-11 at 5.53.59 PM

News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch wants you to know his Fox Business Network’s not losing money anymore. On an earnings call Wednesday, Murdoch described the four-year old business channel as reaching “cash break even” status–not losing money, but not making money either. At the time of FBN’s 2007 launch, the network projected breaking even within five years, so executives see the milestone as a victory even as CNBC continues to dominate the cable business news niche. “Fox Business has made great strides,” News Corp. president Chase Carey said on the earnings call.

Judge Napolitano: Does Obama Wait For Congress To Be On Vacation To Break The Law?

Picture 2 video

Judge Andrew Napolitano sees something suspicious in the timing of President Obama’s major executive announcements: they seem to happen whenever Congress isn’t in session. On last night’s Freedom Watch, the Judge and Reason.tv editor Nick Gillespie debated the relative constitutionality of President Obama’s proposed No Child Left Behind overhaul and agreed– it’s about as constitutional as our “kinetic activities” in Libya, and also announced when Congress is on vacation.

Alan Simpson On Fox Business: The ‘Nuts’ In Congress Who Refuse To Compromise Should ‘Go Home’

Alan Simpson Video

Deficit Commission Co-Chair, former Republican Senator and always outspoken critic Alan Simpson shared his thoughts on the S&P downgrade during a phone call today on the Fox Business Network. Simpson declared he found it “stunning that people are disgusted” when everyone in Washington knows what’s really going on and scolded everyone who is complaining now by telling them “what did they think was going to happen?”

Lou Dobbs On Donald Trump: ‘Folks Should Always Understand… Their Limitations’

dobbs_fallon video

Lou Dobbs‘ new new show on Fox Business Network recently celebrated its 100th episode, and in celebration, the host took a bit of a victory lap by appearing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Dobbs and host briefly onded over New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen and their common bond of being television hosts, when Jimmy Fallon asked about some political figures. Dobbs gave GOP front runner Mitt Romney some muted praise for saying the right things, before giving Donald Trump a backhanded compliment.

Fox Business Anchor Charlie Gasparino Shares His Urban Workout Regimen With The New York Times

Picture 3 video

Small world! Turns out Fox Business Network anchor Charlie Gasparino works out six days a week in the very same city park along the East River where I (before my move to the internet and the requisite relocation across the river into Brooklyn) used to do pushups, pullups, dips and crunches. As Gasparino reveals to [...]

Liberal Host: Fox Business’ ‘Makers Vs. Takers’ Segments Feels Like ‘Class Warfare’

FBN video

Liberal radio and TV host Thom Hartmann isn’t taking Fox Business Network’s weeklong series of “Makers vs. Takers” segments lying down, branding the theme an extension of the Republican “war on the middle class.” On his TV show, The Big Picture, Hartmann calls out the meme, “a war that pits the rich – or the makers – against the poor – the takers,” but his most revelatory insight is his debunking of the myth that wealthy individuals and corporations “create jobs.”

Lou Dobbs Says Years At CNN Looking ‘Increasingly Smaller In My Rear-View Mirror’

Picture 6

After decades at CNN, and a year off television, Lou Dobbs returns Monday evening at 7 p.m. with Lou Dobbs Tonight on the Fox Business Network. “”I did miss [TV], and when I discovered I missed it, it made most of my decisions very easy,” Dobbs tells the New York Daily NewsRichard Huff.

Dobbs, who considered politics after departing CNN a year ago, decided his future–like his past–was in television. The first step begins tonight, with a reintroduction to viewers and working to build the Fox Business brand. “It’s about building back the pace, establishing a comfort level and rebuilding my relationship with the audience. And that’s all on me. I don’t want to let any of my colleagues down.”

Awkward! Judge Napolitano Hypothetically Suggests Date With Former Sex Worker Guest

napolitano_prostitution video

As a fierce libertarian, Judge Andrew Napolitano often takes positions that seem contrarian to the conservative and traditional points-of-view espoused by hosts of Fox News prime time shows. But now that he hosts his own show on the Fox Business Network, he can take the show in directions one might normally expect. Case in point: his recent interview with the former sex worker and published author of Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl Tracy Quan over the legalization of prostitution.

Rep. Ron Paul Makes Special Request Of Wikileaks on Fox’s Freedom Watch

Picture 2 video

Republican Congressman Ron Paul may be Julian Assange‘s most loyal supporter in Congress. Visiting Fox Business’ Freedom Watch– a program on which Assange has been welcome several times– Rep. Paul went to bat for the Wikileaker in the middle of condemning the secrecy of the Federal Reserve, and made a little request of his own: “every conversation of the last ten years with the Federal Reserve people.” Chop, chop, Assange!

Rupert Murdoch Talks Tea Party, China, And Fox Business…On Fox Business

murdoch2 video

Fox Business loves to hear media moguls talk about Fox Business. Last week, they had CNN thinker-upper Ted Turner show up to talk about new Fox Business employee Lou Dobbs. Now they’ve invited their leader Rupert Murdoch to discuss the most pressing matters of the day—like how awesome Fox Business is. “Fox Business, Fox News” are News Corp.’s “best growth engines,” he said. “Seriously.”

Judge Napolitano To Arianna Huffington: ‘How Can Anybody Take You Seriously?’

Picture 5 video

The guest list on today’s Freedom Watch, Fox Business Network’s libertarian talk show, was a roundup of the usual suspects– almost. There was Rep. Ron Paul, his son, Senator-Elect Rand Paul, former Congressman Bob Barr and liberal media mogul Arianna Huffington. Needless to say her visit was slightly more contentious than any of the others, with host Judge Andrew Napolitano repeatedly bringing up Huffington’s conservative past and asking, “how can anybody take you seriously?”

Ted Turner Talks About Old Pal Lou Dobbs Going To Fox Business…With Fox Business

turner2

Ted Turner has a wide range of interests, so it’s fitting that his conversation with Brian Sullivan was wide-ranging. After discussing solar power, job growth, and the gold standard, he touched upon his former CNN employee and “good friend” Lou Dobbs, who recently signed with Fox Business. He had mainly good things to say, though did acknowledge that Dobbs “was a little over the top on the immigration issue while in his last days [at CNN].”

Eric Bolling To Alan Grayson: It’s “Like I’m Talking To A Medicated Person”

grayson1j video

Last night on Fox Business, Rep. Alan Grayson visited Eric Bolling on Follow the Money, where the two would participate in one of the most awkward and least informative interviews this side of Joaquin Phoenix. There were long silences, indirect insults, and general surreality. “Do you want to ask me any serious questions?” Grayson finally asked. Bolling replied, “I don’t think so, sir. Honestly, it’s almost like I’m talking to a medicated person.”

Neil Cavuto Is Extremely Pumped About Fox Business Election Coverage

cavuto

Neil Cavuto is planning a slumber party, and everyone’s invited. The Fox News host seemed unable to contain his excitement as he told Washington Whipsers about what Fox Business Network’s plans for election night. “I would bring cots,” he warned. “And enough Red Bull to keep you going to at least 2 in the morning.” Steve Forbes and former NYSE Chairman Dick Grasso will be among those joining Cavuto to burn the midnight oil and analyze the election results from a financial standpoint. “Fox Business isn’t about red and blue states, it’s about green,” he said, before clarifying: “Your money.”

Juan Williams Recaps How He Got Fired From NPR… And The Note He Got After

williams_10-27 video

We’ve covered (over-covered?) the Juan Williams saga since last week, but here’s one more, maybe final, chapter.

On FBN’s Follow The Money, the show he appeared on last week right before he was fired by NPR, he discussed the circumstances since it all went down.

Dennis Kneale Heading To Fox Business Network

dennis-kneale-promo-pic

TV Newser is reporting that Dennis Kneale has been snatched up by Fox Business News. This won’t be the first time the anchor has appeared in front of Fox cameras. Before his time at CNBC, Kneale regularly appeared on Fox News’ Forbes on Fox.

Fox News And Fox Business Team Up In New Promo To ‘Solve America’s Problems’

beck_10-11 video

Back in June, a Fox Business Network promo featured only Fox News stars, touting the new financial channel.

Now there’s a new marketing strategy out, in ads playing on News Corp. cable news networks but also across the dial, that features Fox News talent tag-teaming with Fox Business hosts – including one with Glenn Beck and somtime-fill-in Andrew Napolitano.

Eric Bolling Bravely Changes Name Of Show From Money Rocks To Follow The Money

bolling_10-6 video

This week Eric Bolling and FBN rebranded his 8pmET show, that launched June 21, as Follow The Money, leaving Money Rocks behind.

CNBC Follows FBN Lead With Bush Tax Cuts Countdown

burnett_10-4 video

Today on CNBC, Erin Burnett did a segment called “Taxing America,” discussing the 88 days until the Bush tax cuts are gone.

Counting down until the Bush tax cuts expire? That’s such an FBN thing to do.

John Stossel Thinks Some Young People Are Just Too Dumb To Vote

stossel_9-29 video

“Are some Americans simply too dumb to vote?” asked Bill O’Reilly last night on The Factor.

He had on John Stossel to answer this question, but Stossel had a laser-focused on one group of apathy: young people. But what about the other idiots in this country?

Money Rocks “Ground Zero Mosque” Debate Devolves Into Finger-Pointing, Insults

Money Rocks video

The calendar may say the summer’s over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all try to hold on to those lovely warm months. In Los Angeles, for instance, people are pretending it’s still July by suffering through a terrible heat wave. Meanwhile, the guests on Money Rocks are helping out by continuing to shriek at each other over that whole “Ground Zero Mosque” thing in a segment that got downright ugly.
