Fox Business Network anchor Neil Cavuto had a very busy Jan. 3, even by his own standards. He hosted his regular show, Your World, at 4 p.m. on Fox News. He then ran over to his other studio to host Fox Business Network’s Your Money at 6 p.m.. After a quick break, he jumped back behind the desk at 8 p.m. to anchor FBN’s coverage of the Iowa Caucus results. With returns still unclear into the wee hours of the night, Cavuto didn’t sign off until 2:37 a.m. Which leads to the obvious question: Why is a business network caring so much about primary elections?

Remember early 2011′s pop confection Herman Cain? The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO/Pokémon aficionado is still making headlines with his Solutions Revolution tour, and on Your World today he had some advice for frontrunner Mitt Romney: choosing Chris Christie as a vice presidential candidate could sink his campaign– but only adopting 999 could save it.

Ron Paul appeared on Friday’s Your World with Neil Cavuto and was asked about the potential of a third-party Donald Trump run and why he never kissed Trump’s “ring” like many of the other candidates had. “I didn’t think it was necessary or appropriate,” Paul replied.

Even George W. Bush’s top strategist Karl Rove thinks House Republicans overreached in reneging on the payroll tax cut deal. His advice: having lost the politics, Republicans should wait until (or to see if?) President Obama flies off to Hawaii on vacation, bash him and congressional Democrats for abdicating their duties, and then … pass the same Senate payroll tax cut compromise they could have passed on Tuesday.

Noting the seating arrangement — with Kelly on one side facing the three men — the four decided to play off a Dating Game theme, throwing in jokes alongside the serious analysis.

Derek and John Tabacco, the founders of the Free Wall Street Now movement, appeared as guests on Your World With Neil Cavuto Monday, just moments after wrapping up the first Occupy Wall Street job fair. With 400 jobs across various levels of employment being offered, the Tabacco brothers deemed it, “an exciting day,” before revealing some of the actions taken by the protesters to drive them away.

This afternoon on Fox News, Neil Cavuto not “disparagingly, just realistically” asked Donald Trump if his upcoming gig hosting a GOP presidential debate for Newsmax if really all little more than an attempt to garner publicity for his new book.

There have been quite a few stories, allegations, and rumors swirling around the Herman Cain campaign recently and, to the credit, of Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, the candidate just had to discuss nearly every single one. Appearing on the show he announced the beginning of his campaign on, Cain discussed the latest affair allegation, how the situation was affecting his family, his many foreign policy gaffes, if he’ll stay in the race, and whether or not he even should.

In a fiery on-air altercation, Neil Cavuto ripped into Don Imus for criticizing his viewership on the Fox Business Network. “My ratings are very consistent,” lambasted Cavuto. “Yours are not, because people don’t like you.”

Oh those sneaky Libertarians. Because of their wacky ideals and whatnot, it’s so hard to peg exactly where they’ll be coming from. Take, for example, John Stossell’s appearance on Your World today. While he came on with a fake protest sign declaring his love of free speech, he disagreed that the Occupiers had a right to, well, occupy with tents. However, when Neil Cavuto presented him with a clip seeming to show the protesters as inciting violence, Stossell refused to take the bait, instead pointing out that the Occupiers hadn’t actually done anything violent yet.

Herman Cain joined Neil Cavuto in the studio on Friday, and he hit on a wide range of topics, from his hatred of political speak to the true origins of his 9-9-9 plan. But his most interesting comments came when Cavuto asked if he had to tone down the jokes and flippant comments a little more:

A video of Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh yelling at constituents went viral today. In it, Walsh is seen screaming and getting in the face of regular people after they suggested some more regulation might be needed to watch over banks and corporations. This afternoon, Walsh went on to Your World to offer an explanation on his odd behavior. Apparently he had “made the mistake of doing [the town hall] on an empty stomach with a little too much coffee.” I see.

Early morning weekend television is tough. There’s probably a lot of sleeplessness and caffeine involved, and looking lively is a must. That must have been what Fox Business anchor Dagen McDowell was striving for this morning on Fox News’ morning panel with Neil Cavuto, when she called Vice President Joe Biden “numb nuts” and accused him of “talking out of his backside.” Have to keep things spicy, right?

Jason Mattera, the Human Events stunt-interviewer who got straightened out by Vice President Joe Biden earlier this week, appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto to continue feigning outrage about Biden’s supposed use of a “rape reference” to “describe Republican opposition to the President’s bill.”

Mattera underscored his concern for women by complaining to Cavuto about the contempt shown to him by Biden’s “press chick,” and continued to mislead about Biden’s remarks, saying the VP accused Republicans of being “pro-rape.”

On Tuesday’s edition of Fox News’s Your World, Neil Cavuto interviewed Scott Martin, CEO of a diversified financial services company and conflated news of Apple’s earning report with footage of Occupy Wall Street protestors using Apple iPhones. “We noticed that plenty of the protesters railing against capitalism on Wall Street, they use a lot of Apple products. Can they have it both ways?” Cavuto snarked.

Yesterday was Fox News’ 15th anniversary, and while it seemed the entire network was in a celebratory mode, there was no more marked display of effusive joy at the event than the highlight reel of celebrity well-wishing on yesterday’s Your World (hosted for the day by Eric Bolling, who then had to make a quick dash across the News Corp landscape to make it to The Five in time). Bolling introduced a cheery highlight reel that included such personalities as Donald Trump and Martha Stewart, but by and large it was Richard Simmons, naturally, who took the cake.

Donald Trump spoke with Neil Cavuto today to discuss how he had become the celebrity de jour among Republican presidential candidates. In a phone interview with Cavuto, Trump had some surprising goodwill for President Obama, saying “I’d love to have Obama be a great president, I’d love to see Obama finish off really strongly and do a great job.”

Who is David Lewis and what is he doing giving House Speaker John Boehner a primary challenge? While his origins are somewhat unclear, the Tea Party activist’s agenda was on full display today on Your World, where Lewis told host Neil Cavuto he considered Rep. Boehner a “socialist,” that the Tea Party movement was still “figuring out” whether it was socialist itself, and that Planned Parenthood is a “criminal syndicate.”

Ron Paul appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto to strike back at Dick Cheney‘s implicit dis of the Congressman (“There are nominees that I’m not enthusiastic about…not likely to get the nomination”), calling the former Vice President “a dictator.” Host Neil Cavuto paraphrased Cheney’s interview on his show, quoting that he thought the feisty Libertarian didn’t have a chance to become the nominee, and Paul’s stance on “pulling up soldiers boots from around the world” was risky.

This afternoon on Your World, Neil Cavuto interviewed one of the protesters, Tea Party activist Ryan Rhodes about why he did what he did and how he thought it went?

Rep. Ron Paul is having the best political campaign of his life, with very real possibilities of taking the straw poll in Ames, Iowa today. Rep. Paul stopped by to answer some questions with Neil Cavuto today, sounding very optimistic and railing against paper money. But before he left, Cavuto had a rather interesting question for the Congressman: would he be open to appointing his roommate, son Sen. Rand Paul to a White House position.

After a dramatic day on Wall Street Monday–with a massive selloff sending the Dow down 5.5 percent–the market rallied before the closing bell Tuesday. “Talk about your stunners,” said Fox’s Neil Cavuto, noting word from the Fed that interest rates were likely to stay low for up to two years fueled the late rally. “Interest rates will stay, and go play. And man oh man, did they ever.” The Dow recovering half of Monday’s loss in what Cavuto called “a whipsaw comeback.”

A generally accepted rule of cable news is that executive, producers and on-air talent truly earn their salaries when big news breaks during the weekend. And if that weekend happens to be right in the middle of the vacation-friendly month of August, then that axiom is even more true, as was the case last weekend when the S&P controversially downgraded the U.S. credit rating. While CNBC stayed in tape all weekend, Fox News and Fox Business saw it as an opportunity to get a jump, and their aggressive reportage earned them record weekend ratings.

Neil Cavuto has been working overtime today covering the aftermath of the U.S. credit downgrade last night, interviewing experts and public officials for answers to how the country got here. He’s been particularly feisty against Democrats in Congress, however, pushing Rep. Dennis Kucinich on his opposition to corporate tax breaks and now showing visible irritation at Rep. Steve Cohen for arguing that raising taxes on the wealthy was far more efficient than going after the lower economic tiers.
