Ann Coulter returned to The O’Reilly Factor today to discuss her candidate Mitt Romney‘s victories last night and the challenges he may face in the future, and she defended him by process of elimination, pointing out the flaws of the other candidates and wondering aloud when they will drop out. She also addressed the issue of Rep. Ron Paul possibly colluding with Romney to land his son a spot in the potential 2013 Cabinet, something she disproved to herself by noting that Rep. Paul “was also soft on Herman Cain.”

Listen up, everyone: Ron Paul wants to make sure you know he’s not in “cahoots” with Mitt Romney. There’s been some speculation about a special relationship between the two — especially following reports that Paul has not attacked Romney once during any of the (many) debates. Well, Paul’s new ad is much more direct. It addresses each of his three opponents by name, criticizes their specific flaws and ultimately deems them all to be the same.

Republican hopeful Mitt Romney told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto Tuesday that despite reports to the contrary, he and Ron Paul were just friends, and wouldn’t elaborate whether he had Paul’s son in mind as a potential VP pick.

With Mitt Romney‘s position as assumed frontrunner on the balance before tomorrow’s primaries, the question of what role Rep. Ron Paul has played in keeping his other competition at bay has brought about talk of a possible deal between the two, which both deny. But statistics show at least some level of symbiosis. ThinkProgress took a look at Rep. Paul’s attacks on fellow Republicans, and found that the Congressman had left Romney completely unscathed, while targeting the rest of the field (and particularly Rick Santorum).

There is a rumor going around that Mitt Romney and Ron Paul currently have a deal going to focus on the other two candidates and not spend much time bashing each other. The rumor was contained to the media until yesterday, when Rick Santorum said during a Tea Party event he attended that it’s obvious Romney and Paul have a deal going. Santorum stated that “the coordination I felt at that debate was pretty clear,” and found it odd that “in 20 debates, Ron Paul never attacked Mitt Romney.”

Remember Tim Pawlenty? Once upon a time, when the GOP field was a lot more crowded, he had his bid for the Republican nomination. That chapter, of course, is now closed. But on Friday, Pawlenty paid a visit to Morning Joe and discussed everything from third-party candidates to the supposed “back room deal” between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. A bromance that, according to him, definitely doesn’t exist.

On Thursday night, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell lambasted presidential hopeful Ron Paul for being a “fake libertarian” by taking on socially conservative views regarding contraception. Mr. Paul, you’ll recall, is currently running as the Republican nominee.

While the talk in the primary race has turned to Mitt Romney vs. Rick Santorum, Ron Paul refused to leave the race. Last night at the debate, he told the crowd that the biggest misconception about him is the belief that he can’t win. Clearly this is a man who believes in his message and courageously refuses to listen to “popular” wisdom. At least, that’s what some see. Rush Limbaugh has a different theory. On his radio show today, Limbaugh theorized that Paul’s only staying in the race as part of a partnership with Mitt Romney.

Yesterday during Piers Morgan Tonight, Governor Chris Christie said that one of the biggest misconceptions about Mitt Romney is that he is frigid, and that he instead possesses “enormous compassion.” He gave an articulate and straightforward response to his candidate’s shortcomings. Tonight, Romney had to answer that question about himself, and began to talk about the budget and other such things for so long that John King had to hop in and remind him that he was asked what the biggest misconception of him was.

The inevitable round of questions on contraception finally arrived about halfway through tonight’s Republican debate, with each candidate giving a passionate response to the question of what the government should or should not fun birth control. Mitt Romney accused President Obama of “legalizing infanticide;” Rick Santorum decried American culture as having a problem with “children having children.” Rep. Ron Paul advised Republicans to keep in mind that birth control itself isn’t to blame for immorality, and Newt Gingrich took a page from Rep. Paul’s book and warned of the “tyranny” that could come from government regulated health care.

The first CNN debate in a month is well underway, and who would have thought that Rep. Ron Paul would have come out swinging hardest, as the only man on stage without a state under his belt? Rep. Paul’s first words in the debate were “he is a fake,” in response to a question from John King as to why an attack ad on Rick Santorum called the former Senator a fake. And he didn’t let up much from there.

While it may feel like a lifetime, it has been all but about a month since the last time the four remaining (now that Buddy Roemer is running as an independent). Much has happened since then– Rick Santorum winning all three primary states on “mini-Tuesday,” shocking most with his win in Colorado; Newt Gingrich‘s almost complete disappearance from the scene, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul hanging about even.

Wednesday’s edition of Now with Alex Wagner took a look at the “positive vibrations” flowing between GOP candidates Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Host Alex Wagner asked Paul’s national campaign chair Jesse Benton whether — despite the two candidates’ many differences — Ron Paul supporters would consider going to Mitt Romney if Paul is not the nominee.

Republican hopeful Ron Paul recently told an audience that he would consider tapping former Fox Business News host Judge Andrew Napolitano as his running mate.

“One time somebody asked me who I’d have to consider and the name Judge Napolitano jumps right out at me,” Paul said to raucous cheers.

Ron Paul appeared on CNN’s State of the Union today, and in addition to boosting his own candidacy, Candy Crowley asked him about latest frontrunner Rick Santorum and whether or not a candidate like him, so focused on social issues, can successfully run against President Obama. Paul honestly answered, “I don’t see how that’s possible,” before explaining why making social issues the focus of a presidential campaign is probably not a good idea for Republicans.

Before welcoming Congressman Ron Paul on State of the Union today, Candy Crowley took time to point out that Paul has not won a single contest in the Republican presidential race so far. In upcoming primary states, Paul is trailing his rivals in either third or fourth place. The closest Paul has come so far is a narrow margin of votes between him and Mitt Romney, and Crowley asked Paul how he expected to make a strong showing in the field if he is unable to win a single primary or caucus.

Ron Paul is still in the Republican race, and he is continuing to deliver his unfiltered message to audiences across the nation. Last night he spoke to an annual conference of Missouri Republicans, where he had some words of warning for the direction the United States is heading in. Because Paul was speaking near the United States’ World War I statue, he took the opportunity to attack Woodrow Wilson, of all people, for being part of the catalyst that has brought the nation to its present predicament.

On Face the Nation today, Bob Schieffer told Congressman Ron Paul that he agrees with the idea that Paul is a consistent, principled politician who believes what he says. And this has certainly given Paul a strong base of supporters in the caucuses and on the internet. But with the exception of Paul’s loyal following, are any Republicans really that enthusiastic about the presidential race given how lackluster they consider candidates like Mitt Romney to be?

Presidential contender Ron Paul narrowly lost the Maine caucuses last night in a contest that some analysts noticed he had a realistic chance of winning. Paul’s campaign was optimistic at their chances of placing ahead of Mitt Romney in the state, and reactions from his campaign at the narrow defeat were mixed. But with the Washington County caucus yet to vote and enough of a difference there for Paul to pull a last-second upset, the Texas congressman’s campaign is spinning it as a victory.

Shortly after finding out he had finished in second place in the Maine caucuses — 194 votes behind Mitt Romney — Ron Paul was a guest on CNN, and told Wolf Blitzer that, despite not finishing in first place, he felt he still, “had a pretty good day.”

Mitt Romney picked up a victory in the Maine caucuses Saturday to rounds of raucous applause, garnering 39% of the vote (2,190 votes). Ron Paul finished second, with 36% (1,996 votes). The Maine victory stems a state losing streak for Romney, who suffered three losses earlier in the week. Rick Santorum finished in third (18%), and Newt Gingrich was in fourth (6%).

For the past three years, the CPAC straw poll has been purely theoretical, with a presidential election actually far out of sight. Those three were won by Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, and Ron Paul. This year, to break the habit, Romney has won again, and what that means for the elections, as they are currently underway, is unclear, but it’s a good way for Romney to end the week.

I will be the first to admit that I did not see the sudden resurgence of Love Connection host Chuck Woolery coming. No, the host was a beloved apolitical memory for most of these years, and the Chuck Norris-esque conservative return caught me by surprise. Yet his appearance at CPAC has sparked something of a resurgence as the former host launches a campaign to install term limits in Congress– a campaign that has endorsed the most conservative candidate in the race, “all of them.”
