3 Confirmed Dead in Shooting at Columbia Mall in Maryland

 


The Howard County Police have confirmed that three people have died during a shooting at the Columbia Mall in Maryland Saturday morning.

Police responded to the active shooting situation just after 12 noon ET and found three people dead, one near a gun and ammunition. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The mall is currently on lockdown, with customers being escorted away from the scene of the shooting, according the Baltimore Sun.

UPDATE (12:45pm ET): Police have confirmed that one of the three dead is the suspected shooter:

UPDATE (1:10pm ET): CNN interviewed a mall worker who tried to evacuate the building when word of the active shooting situation began to spread. He told the network that the gunman was using either a shotgun or a rifle and took a photo of what appear to be bullet holes in the wall near the food court.

UPDATE (11:30pm ET): Police said Saturday the victims were 21 year old Brianna Benlolo and 25 year old Tyler Johnson. Both of Maryland. The shooter has yet to be identified.
