Bob Beckel Drops the Word ‘Chinamen’ on Live TV, the Internet Flips
The Five co-host Bob Beckel is quite a character, known for his occasionally colorful language, but on Thursday’s show, he raised a few eyebrows by using the word “Chinamen” on air, a word that’s generally considered to be an offensive slang word about Chinese people.
Beckel contended that the Chinese are the “single biggest threat” to U.S. national security and said, “We bring them over here, and we teach a bunch of Chinamen––er, Chinese people––how to do computers, they go back to China, and they hack into us.” Beckel ended his rant with a bit of a rude hand gesture.
So, of course, there were some choice Twitter reactions.
Bob Beckel just referred to “Chinamen” on The Five. No, really. Really.

I just heard liberal Democrat Bob Beckel call the Chinese "Chinamen." It's okay though. All Democrats have a "get out of racism free" card.
