A CNBC segment Monday morning took a strange turn (to put it mildly) when a guest got grilled about his views on climate change and said that he believes that today, carbon dioxide is being demonized much like the Jews were being demonized in Germany during the reign of Adolf Hitler.
Andrew Ross Sorkin confronted Princeton professor William Happer over his views on climate change and how he once compared climate chance proponents to Holocaust propaganda. Are climate scientists “the equivalent of Hitler and Nazis?” Sorkin asked.
Happer dismissed the idea that he doesn’t believe in anthropogenic climate change, he just “objects to all of the hype” and gets called a denier anyway. And then he explained his Holocaust comment:
“The comment I made was that the demonization of carbon dioxide is like the demonization of the poor Jews under Hitler. Carbon dioxide is actually a benefit to the world, and so were the Jews.”
