Glenn Beck has long been skeptical of Donald Trump’s conservative credentials, going after media figures like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh for helping to prop him up. Tonight, following Trump’s return to Fox News, Beck attempted to convince Bill O’Reilly that the GOP frontrunner has no right to call himself the “c-word.”

“He is a progressive, Bill. He has a clear, long history of progressive tactics,” Beck said of Trump, with whom he will be sharing a stage at tomorrow’s anti-Iran deal rally. “I mean, his answer on the border was the reason why we are having these problems is because the people in Washington, D.C. are stupid. That’s pretty much his answer on everything, implying that if we just have smarter people in Washington, D.C. we can run the government better.”

Even on his plan to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, which has caught the attention of many right-wing Americans, Beck said Trump was talking like a “progressive” because he wants to “do it through bigger government.”

“I want a man who lives by his principles,” Beck said of Trump’s evolving positions. “I would like to hear an in-depth conversation with Donald Trump on the Constitution. He won’t come on my show at this point. I would like to talk to him tomorrow and convince him it would be a good thing to come on my show.”
