Great Moments in Journalism: MSNBC’s Beer Summit Countdown Clock

msnbc_7-30It’s been a while since the last “Great Moment in Journalism.” But there’s nothing like politics and beer to bring out our next installment.

All the cable news networks have been talking about this upcoming “Beer Summit” taking place at the White House tonight (6pmET! “Red, Light and Blue”!). But only one network took it to the next level – countdown clock.

There’s not much else to say here. I mean, check out that three beer mug graphic.

Get excited for this monumental moment in our country’s history when issues with race relations are solved forever. MSNBC wants to make sure you’ll be there.

> Update: TVNewser notices a late CNN countdown clock as well.

Robert Gibbs was forced to answer 3 questions about the beer summit at today’s briefing. Aren’t there other important things happening in the world?

I am officially sickened by the media now. A so called “Beer Summit” countdown clock? Wow. I am sure Fox News is having a blast with this one.

If CNN had had a beer clock, they would be serious about it, however MSNBC is totally ironic about this stuff.

Is it true that there is actually a full keg waiting in the Oval Office after the media leaves?
