Jim Carrey’s Daughter Auditions For American Idol

Imagine the pressure of everyday being in the immense shadow of your highly successful father. Julian Lennon performed under a pseudonym so people wouldn’t judge him. Jeffrey Jordan, son of Michael Jordan, ultimately ended up leaving his college basketball team. On Sunday’s American Idol, Jane Carrey, the daughter of Jim, attempted to lift the shadow in her own way by auditioning for the singing competition.

Jennifer Lopez remembered young Jane as a baby, reminding her she was a “fly girl” for In Living Color. Carrey then rocked out to Bonnie Raitt‘s “Something to Talk About,” impressing the judges enough to earn her a ticket to Hollywood.

“Oh my God, is this going to be an exciting year,” her dad said when she gave him the good news.

Good for her…I hope she does well.  I remember reading somewhere awhile back that he, Jim, was not a very generous father.
