Karl Rove: ‘Fox News Is Fairer Than MSNBC’

Karl Rove was on Meet The Press this morning, discussing Fox News’ (where he is a political analyst) coverage of the Obama administration. Have they been as fair to the president as other networks? Even more so, claims the former senior adviser to George W. Bush, especially since some news networks “has opinion people…and those same people playing the part of your news delivery…which would not happen at Fox.” Guess which network he was talking about!
A rough transcript of the back and forth:
TOM BROKAW: “Do you think that Fox News is fair to President Obama?”
KARL ROVE: “I think they– on the news side, absolutely. I think that they’ve got first-rate individuals at the White House
who — do their job. And in an objective, fair, and balanced way, yeah, absolutely.BROKAW: You don’t think that they have teed up, for example, the health care bill and are more selective in their coverage?
ROVE: No in fact you have to differentiate, NBC, for example, has MSNBC, which has opinion people …
BROKAW: (interrupting)… 6:00 at night we do.
ROVE: ..and also, you have some of those same people playing part of your news delivery at MSNBC. Which would not happen at Fox. I would not be put out there as quote an objective journalist.
