MSNBC’ers: Iowa Poll Showing Hillary Losing to Christie Should ‘Worry’ Her Fans
A Quinnipiac University poll of the battleground presidential state of Iowa showed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defeating all of her likely Republican presidential opponents in 2016 save for one; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. An MSNBC panel tackling the poll’s results on Wednesday warned Clinton’s supporters that they should be concerned about this survey’s findings.
“I think this poll is something for Hillary Clinton partisans to worry about,” The Daily Beast columnist Michael Tomasky said. He added that these results square with other polls of battleground states showing that Christie would be a competitive candidate in a 2016 presidential race.
Tomasky added that it is a “paradox” how polls simultaneously show Clinton being the “most admired” woman in America but still losing in a general election to the outspoken GOP governor. He noted that Clinton’s standing with independent voters in Iowa is a problem for her prospective campaign.

The Root columnist Cory Dade agreed. “I think, between the two parties, I think the Democrats should be a little bit more worried about the fact that they are trailing, or at least Hillary was trailing, by nine percentage points in this poll,” he said. “I think is a reverberation from the republicans’ continued attacks on Obamacare in particular.”
Dade added that Christie’s standing in the public will fall as he is “vetted” in the press during a campaign.
