Update: Red Eye‘s Greg Gutfeld To Host ‘Quiz Show’ Friday With Glenn Beck

 

As the final chapter of The Glenn Beck Program on Fox News draws to a close, the network is introducing a new substitute host to the mix: Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld, who announced today via Twitter that he will be hosting the program on Friday.

While Gutfeld had been a guest on the program before– notably during the “Ground Zero Mosque” controversy, when Gutfeld proposed opening a Muslim-themed gay bar next to the proposed Islamic center– he has never been a host. He announced his stint as Glenn Beck host via Twitter this evening:

The move adds Gutfeld to a short list of potential substitute hosts that currently includes Freedom Watch host Judge Andrew Napolitano, who Beck himself has given the blessing to take the spot; fellow substitute host Eric Bolling, potential returning host Megyn Kelly, and, previously, the entire cast and crew of Red Eye— a program that has greatly over-performed at it’s current 3 AM spot. Glenn Beck’s last program will air on June 30.

Update: We have learned from numerous sources, including Fox News, that the program will not actually be entirely hosted by Gutfeld, but that Beck will be on hand and that Gutfeld will instead be hosting a segment in “quiz show format” with Glenn Beck as a contestant. The plot thickens…
