Stephen Colbert Hits Matt Lauer: ‘He Found A Way To Mansplain Sexual Harassment!’

On Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert introduced himself as “one of the few men still allowed on television.”

The Late Show host began his show by addressing Matt Lauer‘s firing from NBC due to “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.”

“Not to be confused with ‘appropriate sexual behavior in the workplace’ because that… does not exist,” Colbert quipped.

Colbert told his audience we “should have seen” that Lauer had a “strange obsession with women” judging from his numerous Halloween costumes including Dolly Parton, a Baywatch babe, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and Lucy from the Peanuts comics.

“Good grief!” he reacted. “After looking at those photos, I think he could have been fired for sexually harassing himself.”

He then mocked the allegation that he gave a colleague a sex toy with a note that he wanted to use it on her.

“It’s bad enough he gave her a sex toy, but he also gave her instructions?!? He found a way to mansplain sexual harassment!” Colbert exclaimed.

Colbert pointed out how awkward it must have been for Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb to report Lauer’s firing, but that it was “more even awkward” for the fans outside the window and how back in 2012, Katie Couric said that Lauer “pinches [her] on the ass a lot.”

“Well that certainly explains their old recurring segment, ‘Where In The World Are Matt Lauer’s Hands?'” Colbert joked.

He also mocked President Trump for weighing in on the scandal.

“LISTEN UP!” Colbert shouted to Trump. “You don’t get to comment! That is the pot calling the kettle at 3am and asking what she’s wearing!”
