Supporters Of Harry Reid And Sharron Angle Come To Blows During Debate
Ah, midterms. I hope this season never ends. When it does, we might not get anymore stories like this one from Nevada where a debate between Sharron Angle and Harry Reid (only appearing via video tape due to his Congressional duties) ended with a group of supporters throwing fists. The debate was on how to raise revenue for the state and, fortunately, it looks like a solution was found; next time the candidates meet, weigh the audience members beforehand and start taking bets.
From Fox 5 in Las Vegas:
“Kelly Tanaki said an unidentified man pushed her over and punched her friend Thursday after the forum at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School.
The fight came after an impassioned event during which the crowd both heckled and cheered Republican Sharron Angle and Democrat Harry Reid.
The fight broke out while Reid supporters started to leave during Angle’s closing statement.
The man was detained by school officials. The 27-year-old Tanaki said the fight occurred because she walked past the man, not because she supports Reid and he backs Angle.
Las Vegas Metro police was called to the school, but no arrests were made.”
Classy stuff. It’s always nice to see people becoming passionate about the way their country is run. Yes, it’s clear that, this year, voter apathy is down. Unfortunately it’s mostly down because the other voters knocked it the hell out.
