Trump Announces Plans to Guard Mexico Border With Military ‘Until We Can Have a Wall’

During his meeting with world leaders from the Baltic states of Europe, President Donald Trump ended up rambling today about Mexico and illegal immigrants — and he ended up announcing he would be seeking to secure the border with the U.S. military.

Trump mostly focused on the Central American amnesty “caravans” he spent the last few days bashing on Twitter. He did so by announcing that “until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.”

Trump also said he would use incorporate this into renegotiations of NAFTA while also grumbling that America has “no border” thanks to former President Barack Obama.

As he continued to complain about weak border laws and how Mexico economically takes advantage of America, Trump eventually said that Mexican authorities have stopped the caravans from Honduras during their approach to the border. Trump seemed to take credit for this, suggesting it only happened because he told Mexico it had to happen.

“I told Mexico very strongly, you’re going to have to do something about these caravans that are coming up. I just noticed the caravan now, which is toward the middle of Mexico coming up from Honduras, is breaking up very rapidly. That’s because Mexico has very strong immigration laws, as we should have. We should have those laws. We don’t have. We have immigration laws that are laughed at by everybody.”

Trump also grumbled some more about the “ridiculous” legal process that takes place whenever illegal aliens are brought before the court system.
