The White House probably has blocked transmission of Fox News to all employees. And, judging by comment of various prominent Democrats, they would like to do the same to all voters.

@Tommy: As one of your links explained in a previous post and as I highlighted in a comment, there’s a process, criteria and timetable the Park Service uses to issue permits and I see no reason that they could possibly deny him a permit, if he’s jumped through all the hoops.

If I’m not mistaken, the foundation of your question is that Bill Press called the Park Service and asked if the permit had been issued. Reportedly, they told him that had not and I believe he used the phrasing “under review”, but that’s government speak for “the permit has not been issued”.

One of the previous commenters said that Glenn was talking about your question on his radio show and perhaps he’ll say where he is in the process, but if you really are under the impression that the Park Service would go against their own guidelines, not to mention risk a political backlash and a potential lawsuit during a time they’ve been promised a growing budget in preparation for the service’s centennial, why don’t you call them and ask about the norms?

You are kidding right!! You expect the President of the US to know what a slime like Glenn Beck is doing on a regular basis?? The President has much, much, much more important things to do than worry about a crackpot assembly of malcontents or are embittered and pathetic..

Long story short, they don’t issue the permits until you’ve got all of your preparations made to their satisfaction. From security to porta potties and the like, you’ve got to have it all lined up (with a list of all of your vendors, contractors, etc…) before you get the final green light, which doesn’t happen until a couple of days before the event. According to Beck, and the staffer that’s working with the Park Service, things are proceeding apace and they have no obstacle to getting the permit.

@Pablo: That was pretty much the comment that I made to Tommy’s 6/1 post, but I guess there’s not enough conspiracy involved.

I mean, yeah… The Park Service, a government agency that has to operate under government rules are going to violate those rules and risk a political backlash for no reason, whatsoever. Yeah, right.

Correction: His 7/1 post, but either way, the hoops were outlined in one of Tommy’s links and I highlighted them in a comment, so if he had read the material, it shouldn’t be a surprise.
