Biden Shuts the Door After Reporters Ask Him if Anyone Else Could Beat Trump in 2024

President Joe Biden brought his questioning from the White House press pool to an end by unceremoniously closing the door on reporters.

Biden gave a brief address on Wednesday to implore Congress to provide more funding for Ukraine’s defense. As the president took questions afterwards, he was asked for his response to polling on how many Americans think he acted illegally in connection with his family’s business dealings.

“That’s just a bunch of lies,” Biden said when asked why he interacted with his family’s foreign business associates. After that, Biden walked towards the door while reporters continued to shout out questions, one being “Mr. President, do you think there’s any Democrat who can beeat Donald Trump other than you?”

“I’m not the only one to beat him, but I will defeat him,” Biden said while holding the door ajar. With that, he shut the door while refusing to say who else could defeat Trump.

The president’s remarks come after a recent fundraiser where he said “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running.” More recently, when asked if he would drop out if Trump did, Biden answered “not now.”
