Amber Heard Claims Johnny Depp May Have Broken Her Nose After the 2014 Met Gala: It Was ‘Swollen, Discolored, Red’
Amber Heard claimed that her ex-husband Johnny Depp hit her so hard after the 2014 Met Gala, that she feared he broke her nose.
Heard detailed the incident while testifying during the bombshell trial on Thursday morning, claiming the fight began after Depp accused her of flirting at the event.
“At some point in the evening, we’re sitting across the table and Johnny starts asking me about this woman, he thought I was looking at this woman in a sexual way,” she said. “He was accusing me of flirting and that’s how the argument started. I don’t recall what other accusations I was fielding in that moment, but typically it was more than just one.”
Heard went on to say that when the then-couple returned to their hotel room, Depp shoved her and began to act violently.
“I remember what started it was this accusation I had been flirting at this event. We get back to the hotel room and Johnny shoves me and kind of grabs me by the collarbone area. Above my collarbone, below my neck,” she said. “I think at that point when we were still in the living room, I shoved him back.”
Noting that Depp is stronger than her, she went on to claim that he threw a bottle at her, which missed her but hit the chandelier, and shoved her down on the sofa.
“At some point he whacks me in the face. I think that was the first time I was like, ‘Is this a broken nose?’ I suspected I had a broken nose,” she said. “Other than that, I was relatively unscathed, but I remember my nose being swollen, discolored, red and I took a picture of my face at some point and made a joke to a friend about how bad I looked.”
While on the stand Wednesday, Heard detailed another incident in which Depp allegedly conducted a “cavity search” in her vagina while looking for cocaine.
“He’s like grabbing my breasts, he’s touching my thighs, he rips my underwear off and then, he — proceeds to do a cavity search,” Heard said. “He said he was looking for his drugs, his cocaine, his coke.”
Depp is currently suing Heard for $50 million, alleging that she defamed him in an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018. While Heard did not name Depp in the column, she heavily implied that Depp abused her throughout their marriage.
Heard later filed a countersuit accusing Depp of orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her via his lawsuit.
Depp had previously lost a libel case against the publisher of Britain’s The Sun in 2020, as the British High Court ruled that the claim Depp was a “wife-beater” was “substantially true.”
