Charlamagne Skewers Ron DeSantis’ Height Controversy in the Most Disney Way: ‘Gotta Be This Tall to Ride the Magic Teacups’
Charlamagne Tha God hit Ron DeSantis (R-FL) where it hurts by dragging the governor over the rumors about his height, along with his legal fight against Disney.
The Daily Show guest host used part of his Tuesday night opener to look at DeSantis’ White House run, jabbing him as “someone who’s never gonna be president.” Much of the recent discourse surrounding DeSantis has focused on his failure to surge in the polls. However, Charlamagne looked instead at the recurring public speculations that DeSantis wears lifts to make himself look taller.
“You know your campaign is going terribly wrong when people only want to talk about your shoes,” said Charlamage. He then imitated a reporter going, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’ll get to Israel-Palestine in a second. First, what the f*ck is up with those boots, bro?”
After arguing that America is due for a short president, Charlamagne claimed DeSantis’ height controversy makes so much sense in the context of his dispute with Disney.
“It’s not because of wokeness,” he said. “It’s because you gotta be this tall to ride the magic teacups.”
Correspondents Ronny Chieng and Troy Iwata joined Charlamagne after that, and the three went to town on “the munchkin with itty bitty legs.”
