Megyn Kelly Complains About Black National Anthem At Super Bowl — Gets Roasted By Critics

SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly got roasted over her complaints about the inclusion of the “so-called Black National Anthem” at the Super Bowl, and for other comments on the game’s halftime show featuring Usher.

Sunday night’s Super Bowl LVIII was a rollercoaster ride in which the first several hundred yards of track took fans on a gentle incline toward a breathtaking finish in overtime. The Kansas City Chiefs bumbled their way through a low-scoring affair against the San Francisco 49ers before coming alive at the end of the fourth quarter and winning the game with a touchdown in the final three seconds of the first overtime quarter.

The game took place against a backdrop of MAGA-world angst over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce that sparked bizarre accusations that Swift and the National Football League have colluded to install President Joe Biden for a second term by rigging the outcome of the Super Bowl, as well as other attacks on the star. At a Super Bowl week press conference, one reporter even asked about “credible threats” involving Swift.

But the host of Sirius XM’s The Megyn Kelly Show had other things on her mind as she watched the game. Well, other things in addition to her periodic digs at Swift and Kelce.

During the pre-game ceremonies, Kelly waded into race with her trademark sensitivity by complaining about singing star Andra Day’s rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the Black National Anthem.

“The so-called Black National Anthem does not belong at the Super Bowl. We already have a National Anthem and it includes EVERYONE,” Kelly wrote.

Critics of Kelly roasted the host on X/Twitter over that comment, as well as a critique of the halftime show that some saw as thematically similar:
