NBC’s Today Kicks Off Halloween With 80’s-Themed Extravaganza

The Today show took things back to the 80s on Wednesday with a huge costume pageant to help everyone get into the Halloween spirit.

The show kicked things off with a countdown of the greatest movie moments from some of the most critically acclaimed films of the 80s. Sure enough, this was followed by Willie Geist dressed up as Ferris Bueller, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer as Back to the Future‘s Doc Brown and Marty McFly, Craig Melvin as Coming to America‘s Prince Akeem, and Peter Alexander and Jenna Bush Hager as Top Gun‘s Maverick and Goose.

After the movie rundown, the show turned towards their favorite musical hits from the era, and that led to a new round of costumed NBC personalities. Kathie Lee Gifford performed as Madonna, Hoda Kotb was Elton John, Carson Daly portrayed Bruce Springsteen, Sheinelle Jones was Tina Turner, and Savannah Guthrie played Cyndi Lauper.
