The 50 Best Restaurants in The World: FULL LIST



Last night, for the first time in New York City, the World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced. The ceremony was held at Cipriani Wall Street, and it was quite the event. First of all, the food. The after party eats were done by none other than April Bloomfield, which was awesome. Also, there was an official chocolate sponsor. You read that correctly. Chocolate. Sponsor.

The list is not without its problems. For one thing, the list is very heavily focused on French food, and a lot of the restaurants have incredibly pricey tasting menus, and it feels like entire categories of restaurants aren’t being considered. For another, it’s predominately male. But, on the positive side, being in a room where Thomas Keller doesn’t make the list and Dan Barber (my personal idol) is number 48, is something really, really special. Of the 50 restaurants from all over the world, 47 had representation, which was pretty incredible. Here is the list in full:
