Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly boasting to his fellow inmates that a presidential pardon is on the way, TMZ reported on Thursday.
Combs, currently housed at FCI Fort Dix, has been telling fellow convicts that he’ll be out of prison early next year and will “take care of them” once he’s out, the outlet reported.
When asked about a possible pardon for Combs at the White House back in May, President Donald Trump told Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy that he would “consider” a pardon for the “Finna Get Loose” rapper.
“He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, he sort of — that relationship busted up, from what I read — I don’t know, he didn’t tell me that — but I’d read some, little bit nasty statements in the paper all of a sudden,” Trump told Doocy, adding, “I would certainly look at the facts — If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me.”
Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison last month after a dramatic trial that exposed the music mogul’s drug-fueled sex gatherings — dubbed “freak-offs” — where women were allegedly abused and coerced.
While he dodged the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act.
Combs was also slapped with a $500,000 fine and ordered to undergo five years of supervision.
Combs’s legal battles are far from over at the moment, as he faces a wave of civil lawsuits accusing him of rape and assault.
