Watch: Stephen Colbert Roasts Latest Bunch of ‘Criminal Mastermind’ Insurrectionists to Get Rounded Up by the Feds

Stephen Colbert checked in on the latest Capitol rioters to get a visit from the feds — roasting them in another edition of Seditionist Round Up Roundup.

The late-night host first celebrated that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appointed Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WI) to serve on the January 6 select committee alongside Reps. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Pete Aguilar (D-CA) Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and Elaine Luria (D-VA).

“Ok, so the committee has seven Democrats to grill the seditionists, and if that doesn’t work, they’ve got one Cheney to shoot ’em in the face,” he cracked, praising himself for getting laughs for a “15-year-old joke”

Colbert then ran through those that the House committee will be investigating, cracking, “They’re not the, ah, shall we say, tightest zip ties in the bag.”

“First up is New York native and cartoon henchmen Gabriel Brown,” Colbert said, telling viewers that he was arrested due to videos that showed him stopping to sign his name on a banner outside of the Capitol. What did he think this was, a rioter’s yearbook?”

Brown, of course, also said his name on camera numerous times.

“Also worth noting, he plugged his YouTube channel during an insurrection,” Colbert added of the “criminal mastermind.”

Thomas Robertson, another alleged insurrectionist, reportedly brought a partially assembled pipe bomb with him, carrying it in a box labeled “booby trap.”

“It’s a little obvious,” Colbert said. “It’s like hiding your pornography in a box labeled ‘booby trap.’”

The host also outed Sandra Weyer, who was arrested Monday after she was caught encouraging people to assault a New York Times photographer on that day.”

Weyer allegedly shouted, “Get her out, mace her!” at the photographer while storming the building.

“That is scary — also dumb,” Colbert judged. “Quick! Attack the person currently taking photographic evidence of what we’re doing to her! Make sure she gets your good side.”
