WATCH: Daniel Boulud Makes An Omelet In A Wok In 15 Seconds

 

Where did Daniel Boulud discover the joys of wok omelet-making? Because in this video from team at Bon Appetit that has very little context (other than the fact that they were out for dinner one night), Boulud strides into the kitchen at the recently-opened Mission Chinese Food (NYC) — in the middle of service, natch — and takes the 18,000 BTU wok for a eggy joyride in order to turn out a perfect French omelet in 15 seconds flat. Niiiiiice.

(As The Braiser’s resident Asian-ish person, I must add that Boulud demonstrates the correct technique for cathartic wok-and-rolling.)
