Katie Couric invited like a hundred celebrity chefs to be on her talk show today, all of whom were very TV slutty-friendly, but then Grant Achatz got his very own Oprah-esque couch segment to himself to discuss how having tongue cancer made him a better chef.

This isn’t a new story for Food Industry People to hear, and we love a good Grant Achatz symposium/conference talk-back. But something about an decidedly non-commercial, well-respected chef making his Middle America living room debut feels really weird to us.
