‘I Don’t Know What He’s Doing’: Bret Baier Fires Back at Ex-Pal Chuck Todd Over ‘Tee Time With Trump’ Criticism
Fox News anchor Bret Baier dismissed criticism from ex-NBC political director Chuck Todd suggesting he’s no longer relevant in media.
Recently, Todd called out Baier by claiming, “I thought he really actually cared about being a journalist first and wanting to walk that line. And now he just wants to have tee time with the president.”
Semafor’s Ben Smith asked Baier about Todd’scomments during an interview at the outlet’s Trust in News: A National Summit. Baier responded by noting he is scheduled to interview British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his show Thursday evening before adding, “I don’t know what he’s (Todd) doing.”
Earlier this year, Todd, former moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, announced he was leaving the network after nearly 20 years.

I think I think my focus is, you know what I said, covering the news. If I have off the record conversations and moments with President Trump, I think that any journalist would want to get in his mind of what’s next. The things are going million miles an hour and just to have a perspective off the record. So I don’t think that that’s true. As I said, we’ve covered a lot of things that we were first on. I mean, you know, the cognitive cognitive questions about President Biden, we were told that we were running cheap fake videos and it was all attack.
