‘Begs Many Questions’: CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and John Berman Report Live on New Epstein Bombshell Emails About Trump
CNN’s John Berman and Kaitlan Collins reported live on the new bombshell emails by late child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein that mention President Donald Trump by name.
CNN jumped on the emails quickly on Wednesday morning after the documents were released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.
In a 2011 message, Epstein wrote to his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell that Trump “spent hours” at his house with an alleged victim.
Epstein died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while awaiting charges for sex trafficking. Maxwell is now serving 20 years for sex trafficking, which the Department of Justice said she did in close coordination with Epstein.
Trump has faced bipartisan calls for more documents related to Epstein’s case to be released after his DOJ denied Epstein was sex trafficking for people other than himself.
“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. Police chief. etc. im 75 % there,” Epstein wrote in the message.
Emails between Epstein and author Michael Wolff were also released.
“It begs many questions to be asked, perhaps to the President or the White House,” Berman said on Wednesday as Collins ran through the bombshell messages.
The emails provide new context to the relationship between former friends Epstein and Trump. Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that the two were not close friends and she had never seen the president inside of Epstein’s home.
Collins reported that Wolff had gotten back to CNN with a comment about the emails.
“I reached out to him to ask for any context on these emails, for anything from him, and he said, quote, I don’t quite remember the context, but he says, I was engaged then in an in-depth conversation with Epstein about his relationship with Trump, and this seems to be part of that conversation,” she reported.
