Drudge Mocks Trump For Trying to Distract From Epstein With… Hillary Clinton’s Emails

The Drudge Report mocked the Trump administration’s Hillary Clinton document release Wednesday with a brutal homepage splash asking “HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT HILLARY EMAILS?” beneath the image of a pensive looking President Donald Trump.

The jab came after Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the Department of Justice had released long-sought documents related to Clinton’s use of a private email server. The release included internal memos tied to former FBI director James Comey’s handling of the original Clinton probe.

On Monday Bondi praised the release of the Clinton documents as proof of her department’s full commitment “to transparency.”

But the timing is what raised eyebrows and earned Matt Drudge’s ridicule.

The sudden resurgence of the Clinton saga, paired with new accusations from Trump’s Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard that former President Barack Obama manufactured 2016 Russia interference claims, comes as the administration faces ongoing pressure to release the long-promised Jeffrey Epstein files.

A July 7 Justice Department memo infuriated sections of Trump’s base after it concluded flatly that Epstein committed suicide and no blackmail “client list” exists and Bondi walked back on the full release of the Epstein files.

To some, including Drudge it seems, the move appears as a political deflection and an attempt to drag attention from the Epstein firestorm by tapping old political scars.

In a later addition to the top line Drudge added: “TRUMP PLAYS GREATEST HITS.”
