Fox Anchor Enthuses To Alina Habba Trump Is ‘Figure of Our Times’ For Still Wanting to Be President Amid Prosecutions

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum gushed to Trump lawyer Alina Habba that former President Donald Trump is “incredibly resilient” and a “figure of our times” because he “still wants to be president” amid a raft of prosecutions.

On Wednesday afternoon’s edition of Fox News Channel’s The Story with Martha MacCallum, the anchor began her interview of Habba by asking about Trump’s Super Tuesday victory party, then remarked on Trump’s “incredible resilience” in the face of legal troubles she characterized as having “every piece of the book thrown at him”:

MARTHA MACCALLUM, FOX NEWS ANCHOR: Former President Trump’s attorney Alina Habba joins me now from West Palm Beach, Florida. She was at Mar-a-Lago for the Super Tuesday celebration.

Alina, it looked like a big night at Mar-a-Lago last night, the president celebrating. He’s got a lot of these legal cases still in the background though, right?

ALINA HABBA, ATTORNEY FOR FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, of course, that’s all part of the plan and their plan for election interference, because they can’t beat him.

But the energy was so amazing last night, Martha. He is really focused, and you can just tell that he’s ready to get back to business. And the energy in the room said it all. No matter what they do, no matter all the garbage they try and throw at him, he is determined and undeterred, and he will continue to fight for the country, so that we stop all of this madness that we’re seeing with the legal lawfare, frankly.

MACCALLUM: Well, he’s an incredibly resilient politician and figure of our times.

He certainly has had every piece of the book thrown at him, and he still wants to be president of the United States. That’s very clear. Going to be fascinating to watch his campaign over the next nine months as all of this unfolds.

Trump has been hit with a fraud judgment that could cost him in excess of $460 million if appeals are unsuccessful, as well as the $83.3 million judgment Trump owes for defaming E. Jean Carroll while he was president.

The former president is also under indictment on 34 felony counts in New York, 37 counts stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his retention of classified documents under the Espionage Act plus a superseding indictment by Smith on three additional charges against Trump (one additional count of unlawful retention of National Defense Information and two new obstruction counts), another Smith indictment for his attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election, and the newest indictment of Trump in Georgia on 13 counts related to election crimes.
