The President’s Daughter-in-Law Just Interviewed His Press Secretary on Fox News
Fox News host Lara Trump — the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump — interviewed President Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt Tuesday on Fox. And during a six-minute discussion that could hardly be described as probing, Lara Trump teed up a Hunter Biden soundbite to Leavitt which was pure red meat for the Trump base. And what’s more, Leavitt had already asked about the exact same soundbite during an interview on Fox News just 24 hours earlier.
The interview took place during Tuesday’s edition of The Will Cain Show, which Lara Trump guest-hosted. The president’s daughter-in-law kicked off the chat by praising the president, and blaming existing problems at the southern border on his political rivals.
“We’re so happy now we have a president who is actually paying attention at our southern border,” the president’s daughter-in-law said. “We can say that we have secure southern border now. But Karoline, the implications of what happened over the past four years, letting millions of undocumented, illegal immigrants in this country … the impact of that is going to be felt for years.”
“Yes, that’s right Lara,” the president’s spokesperson replied. “President Trump inherited a complete mess from Joe Biden in the previous administration. And it’s alarming to me that there were people in positions of power in this big, beautiful White House behind me for four years who just sat back and watched as our country was invaded by millions of illegal aliens from countries all over the world.”
The president’s spokesperson added, “This administration and this president are not going to rest until all of these illegal alien criminals are deported from our county. We must be a nation of laws or America will cease to exist, and this is a law and order president.”
“And this is a president who also wants to put America first!” The president’s daughter-in-law said.
“That’s right!” The president’s spokesperson responded.
Later, the president’s daughter-in-law played a clip of Hunter Biden from a YouTube interview that premiered Monday — in which Hunter Biden railed against deportation raids.
“People are really upset about illegal immigration: F*ck you!” Hunter Biden said. “How do you think your hotel room gets cleaned? How do think you have food on your f*cking table?! Who do you thinks washes your dishes?”
“Wow, Karoline, who do you think washes your dishes?” The president’s daughter-in-law said, after the clip played. Here’s yet another Democrat who is obviously very prominent. We all know Hunter Biden. And with absolutely demeaning language here towards all these people.”
“It’s pathetic to see Hunter Biden do this,” the president’s spokesperson said. “It’s totally unhinged. And again, it shows you how displaced the Democrat Party’s priorities, and how out of touch they continue to be. Hunter, unfortunately for him, is trying to save face for his father — who was run out of office, again, by nearly 80 million Americans who overwhelmingly rejected him and his policies. I think Hunter and the rest of the Biden crime family should take a cold, hard look in the mirror and realize how they failed our country. And they should go home and sit down and shut up! Because they are clearly incredibly out of touch with the vast majority of our country.”
It was a polished response — and part of the reason for that may be because Leavitt had an opportunity to practice it the day before on Fox News.
In a Monday interview on Fox News, anchor Martha MacCallum played an expanded version of the very same soundbite for Leavitt. (Repeated parts in italics.)
“All these Democrats say, you have to talk about and realize that people are really upset about illegal immigration: F*ck you!” Hunter Biden said. “How do you think your hotel room gets cleaned? How do think you have food on your f*cking table?! … Who do you think is here by the f*cking sheer… grit and will that they figured out a way to get here because they thought that they could give themselves and their family a better chance. And he’s somehow convinced all of us that these people are the criminals.”
After MacCallum asked Leavitt for her reaction, the press secretary said, “Clearly, they have learned nothing from President Trump’s overwhelming victory on November 5. The American people want deportations. They want secure borders. That’s why we have had the most successful six months of any administration.”
But practice made perfect for Leavitt — as she had her zingers ready to go on Tuesday in the interview.
“We’d be better off probably if we didn’t hear from Hunter for quite some time,” the president’s daughter-in-law said. “That would be OK, Karoline, with a lot of us.”
