‘It Means A Lot’: Blinken Comforts Crying Israeli Terror Survivor Pleading For Him to Help Gaza Hostages

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday visited a donation site in Tel Aviv and spoke with a young woman who survived the attack on the desert concert, where Hamas gunmen murdered over 260 people, raped women, and took dozens hostage.

“We are survivors and the music rave. We lost a lot of friends,” the young woman began, adding:

We lost a lot of our friends, close friends, lots of family members. There are a lot of people that we know that are kidnapped, now in Gaza. We went through horror. Really. I was just like, I’m 24 and I never imagined something like this would happen ever in a dance, in a music festival.

We celebrated love and we danced and it was amazing. Then the rockets started and gunshots everywhere. We managed to escape, but there were a lot of friends that didn’t.

“And there are a lot of friends that are kept captive now in Gaza. And we were saved by a miracle, but there are friends that we love that weren’t,” the woman continued as she choked back tears.

Blinken comforted her as she added, “Thank you for being here. It’s really important.”

“And if there’s any way to help. Like first priority. First priority for our friends and family that are now in Gaza,” she continued, adding:

We’re strong here. We’re powered right here in this place. Now in Tel Aviv and everywhere. Thank you very much for being here.

Blinken said, “We are thinking of them and trying to do everything we can. We want to bring them home.”

“I know. Thank you so much for being here and speaking to me, it means a lot,” she added.

“I am so sorry you are going through this,” Blinken replied, saying, “I admire your strength, and also, telling your stories makes a big difference, the world needs to see this.”
