Jennifer Welch Accuses Charlie Kirk of Having ‘Justified’ His Own Murder

Progressive podcast host and media darling Jennifer Welch accused Charlie Kirk, the late conservative activist whose accused murderer allegedly killed him over his views on transgender issues, of having “justified” his own murder in a wild moment on her I’ve Had It podcast over the weekend.

In an episode featuring former CNN personality Don Lemon, Welch played a clip of CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss asking Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, “What do you say to people who justified his [Charlie Kirk’s] death?”

“You’re sick. He’s a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my three-year-old daughter,” replied Kirk.

“So Don, she-, Bari Weiss, the premise of her question, is that people that, I guess, justified his death-,” began Welch before Lemon cut her off to insist he didn’t “know anyone who justified his death.”

“The person that I heard that justified his death was him. He’s the one that said on tape that if school kids die, but it means he gets to have a Second Amendment, then that’s-, that’s what it’s gonna be. He’s the one that justified it,” continued Welch. “And I believe at the time of shooting, he was talking about gun violence at the time.”

The quote made by the Turning Point USA founder and referenced by Welch was: “I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.”

He also suggested that schools should be protected by armed authorities.

“If our money and our sporting events and our airplanes have armed guards, why don’t our children?” he asked rhetorically.

While the two political commentators claimed not to be aware of anyone who justified Kirk’s assassination, celebration, and mockery of the tragedy was a widespread, widely remarked-upon phenomenon in the days following it.

“I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of sh*t of a human being! The pronouns was/were! Because if you talk sh*t, you will get banged! Rest in peace Charlie Kirk, you piece of sh*t!” shouted British punk rock frontman Pascal Robinson-Foster to raucous cheers of approval from his audience only a few days after Kirk’s murder.

Matthew Dowd — formerly of MS NOW, which was then known as MSNBC — meanwhile, was let go by his network after he submitted that “I always go back to hateful thoughts, lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” just moments after Kirk was shot.
