Trump Defamation Trial Judge Warns Alina Habba She’s ‘On The Verge’ Of Spending Time in ‘Lockup’

Trump Attorney Alina Habba Rages To Reporters Over Fraud Trial In Rant About Trump's 'Special Properties'

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan sparred with Trump defense attorney Alina Habba on Friday and warned her that continuing to improperly enter evidence during her closing argument could land her in “lock up.”

Donald Trump is currently on trial to determine damages after the former president was found liable for defaming E. Jean Carroll, whom a jury also concluded Trump sexually abused in a department store in the 1990s.

MSNBC’s Katie Phang was in the New York courtroom on Friday where Habba was sternly reprimanded, yet again, by Judge Kaplan for running roughshod of the court’s procedures. Phang reported:

Trump’s lawyers try to use slides of tweets that weren’t entered into evidence and Carroll objects.
Judge: You’re not showing the slide.

Habba: But, your Honor…

Judge: Sit down. You are on the verge of spending some time in the lockup.

Trump walked out of the courtroom as Carroll’s attorney accused Trump of continuing the defame her client throughout the trial. “Trump walked out of the courtroom during Carroll’s lawyer’s closing arguments in which her lawyer Roberta Kaplan directly criticized his actions during the trial saying that he ‘spent the entire trial continuing to engage in defamation,’” reported NBC News.

“Kaplan noted the incident in the record,” concluded the report.
