Kristi Noem Repeatedly Dodges When CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Asks if Democrats Are a ‘Domestic Extremist Organization’

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem repeatedly dodged a question from CNN’s Katilan Collins about whether she would classify Democrats as a “domestic extremist organization.”

The tense exchange took place on CNN’s The Source Wednesday evening — where Noem appeared to deliver an update on the investigation into the deadly shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas. After a back-and-forth in which Collins pressed Noem on President Donald Trump denouncing “radical left terrorists” in response to the shooting, Collins brought up a recent comment from White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller — who called the Democratic party a “domestic extremist organization.”

“As the head of the Department of Homeland Security …would you agree with that characterization?” Collins asked Noem.

“Well, we certainly have seen Democrats out there take extreme positions and support radical criminal organizations,” Noem replied — accusing them of “support of terrorists such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.”

After a brief detour by Noem, Collins tried again.

“I just think the question is, would you label them a domestic extremist organization as Stephen Miller did?” Collins said.

The DHS secretary again dodged.

“I would love to see these Democrats denounce these criminals, these individuals that are out there trafficking drugs and trafficking our children, raping our girls and boys and selling them, and people that are committing criminal acts, robbing and murdering individuals,” Noem said. “I haven’t seen these Democrats do that, and they should.”

Collins tried one more time.

“But as the DHS secretary, would you say that Democrats are a domestic extremist organization? Yes or no?” Collins said.

But Noem, once more, would not say one way or the other.

“Their views are extreme and they don’t align with the American people at all,” Noem said.
