Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) accused the U.S. Government of being “in control” of the mysterious drones flying over New Jersey and adjacent states in recent weeks.
The objects have been spotted in Garden State skies for weeks, causing anxiety among citizens and some lawmakers in both New Jersey and New York.
In a post to X late Saturday, the Georgia Republican declared without explanation, “The government is in control of the drones and refuses to tell the American people what is going on. It really is that bad.”
Sunday morning, Greene also shared a video that went viral on X after it was shared by Joe Rogan of a drone manufacturer making some bold predictions about what people in New Jersey have been seeing on a nightly basis.
In the video, the man claimed without any evidence that the drones could be operating along interstates seeking everything from missing Ukrainian nuclear warheads to radioactive waste.
Greene shared the nine-minute video and declared:
I’m thankful for the courage displayed by this man to go public and explain his knowledge of the drones from his professional viewpoint. It’s shameful our government doesn’t explain the truth as well. If Americans are in danger of a nuclear or dirty bomb, they deserve to know.
Some of the objects above New Jersey have been identified as commercial aircraft and lawfully-operated small planes.
Still, some of them appear to be drones of varying sizes and shapes.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said on ABC’s This Week on Sunday that if people in the state don’t start getting answers, they might start taking the drones out on their own. Christie also criticized current Democratic New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and President Joe Biden.
“I’ve lived in New Jersey my whole life,” he said. “This is the first time that I’ve noticed drones over my house. And I was in a restaurant in Monmouth County on Friday night. Had people at the bar coming up to me and saying, ‘Governor Murphy, won’t tell me anything,'” he said. “The president won’t tell me anything.”
