Mark Levin Attacks ‘Hysterical’ Fox News Colleague Andy McCarthy Over Criticism of Trump

Mark Levin attacked his Fox News colleague Andy McCarthy over his criticism of President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Department of Justice on Monday.

McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor, a staunch conservative, a contributing editor at National Review, and a Fox News contributor. In recent days, he has been outspoken about his gripes with the DOJ, and especially its attempt to dismiss the criminal case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D).

In a pair of columns for National Review last week, McCarthy called the order to drop the case “explicitly political” even though it “hilariously claimed to be part of the new DOJ’s crusade against politicized prosecutorial decision making.”

Then, in another column over the weekend, McCarthy accused the DOJ of being focused on settling “the president’s scores” and rewriting ” dark chapters of his history.”

On Monday, McCarthy published yet another column. In this one, he argued that the Supreme Court should rule in Trump’s favor in a case pertaining to his firing of the head of the Office of Special Counsel.”

“President Trump should be on the verge of a significant victory in his worthy campaign to rein in the administrative state — i.e., to restore constitutional order. He has a strong case on the law,” wrote McCarthy. “The only question is whether his recent suggestions that he need not follow the law, and his Justice Department’s intimations that politicized law enforcement is still in vogue, will give the Supreme Court pause about reinforcing the law — and clarifying the breadth of executive authority — to his benefit.”

Levin shared McCarthy’s latest on X Monday, but insulted McCarthy in his caption.

“Despite Andy McCarthy’s increasingly hysterical declarations about the politicization of the Trump DOJ, the Supreme Court must ignore the static from commentators and quickly fix the judicial usurpation of basic and essential executive powers by lower court judges,” submitted Levin.

“These district judges are doing grave damage to separation of powers and representative government, and destroying public respect for the courts,” he added. “It’s their politicization that threatens the justice system.”

This isn’t the first time Levin has attacked McCarthy in harsh terms. Back in the summer of 2023, Levin called McCarthy’s argument for impeaching Trump after the January 6 Capitol riot “absurd” and “unserious.”
