McDonald’s Announces Mariah Carey Partnership With Photo Suggesting a New Franchise Under the Sea

All we want for Christmas is apparently McDonald’s. Specifically, a McDonald’s you have to scuba down to access.

Mariah Carey is teaming up with the fast food giant for a new “Mariah Meal,” announced with an image of the iconic singer emerging from the ocean with a giant McDonald’s behind her — presumably for a franchise located somewhere under the sea?

In the lead-up to Christmas, McDonald’s will be offering free items for 12 days “with a $1 minimum purchase on McDonald’s mobile app,” per USA Today.

The partnership mostly got attention for the above Photoshop and what exactly the implication is of a giant McDonald’s sign in the middle of the ocean, giving one mental images of bobbing along on the beautiful briny sea for some burgers and fries. There is some context for why it’s an ocean picture, but the addition of the sign just raises further questions.

Also now the Teletubbies are involved I guess.
