Mediaite Hires New York Post’s Tom Durante as Co-Managing Editor

As Mediaite rapidly expands, we have been looking for an experienced editor to help manage the team, shape our coverage, and add to our ever-growing readership.
We are excited to announce that as part of those efforts we have hired Tom Durante, starting this week, to serve as co-managing editor. I’m proud to welcome him to Mediaite’s leadership team — where he will join me, co-managing editor Joe DePaolo, and founding editor Colby Hall.
As for said leadership team: we are thrilled that Joe has returned full-time after his stint as senior producer on Dan Abrams Live for NewsNation, and he and Colby will be leading an exciting new venture we are rolling out soon.
Tom is a gifted and thoughtful journalist with two decades of experience. He joins Mediaite after six years at the New York Post, where he served as senior editor and most recently deputy managing editor of digital.
During his time at the Post, Tom shaped the paper’s digital coverage, led editorial teams, and edited Piers Morgan’s weekly column.
Before that, Tom served as a senior editor at InsideEdition.com, The New York Daily News, the Daily Mail, and Fox News Digital. He brings a wealth of experience to Mediaite and will help us elevate and strengthen our coverage of the intersection of media and politics.
Tom is a native New Yorker who’s now rooted in Ridgefield, Connecticut, with his wife, two kids and a dog named Brooklyn. And to our often mouthy commenters, beware: he’s an avid ice hockey player and a three-time marathoner.
Please join us in welcoming Tom Durante to the team!
