Filmmaker Michael Moore proposed a new Pledge of Allegiance for the country’s “non-MAGA heads.”

The Fahrenheit 9/11 director took to his Substack on Monday to post new lyrics he worked up for a Pledge of Allegiance to those part of the resistance against President Donald Trump.

“What if we all took a new pledge?” Moore asked. “For you. For me. For the people and for the country that deep down — in spite of its MAGA-heads, in spite of its insanity — we’ve decided to fight for its survival, holding onto a belief that we can make it better, that we can fix it, that we can end the madness and create a true Democracy for which it stands.”

Moore’s new lyrics are as follows:

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE
TO THE PEOPLE
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
AND TO THE DEMOCRACY
FOR WHICH WE ALL STAND:

ONE PERSON,
ONE VOTE,

ONE NATION,
PART OF ONE WORLD,

EVERYONE!
A SEAT AT THE TABLE!
EVERYONE!
A SLICE OF THE PIE!

WITH LIBERTY
AND JUSTICE,

EQUALITY
AND KINDNESS,

AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
FOR ALL.

Moore is best known for directing hit left-leaning documentaries like Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11. His last two films — Michael Moore in TrumpLand and Fahrenheit 11/9 — focused on Trump’s rise in politics. Fahrenheit 11/9, his last feature, came out in 2018.

He argued that “political action” should be on people’s daily to-do lists the same way brushing their teeth is.

“Our hearts do not go more than a second without creating a beat. Our lungs do not skip more than 3 seconds without taking a breath,” he wrote. “Can we all, all of us, together, pledge to not skip a day right now without taking some simple sort of political action?”

Moore frequently takes to his Substack to protest the president’s agenda over Israel, immigration, and more. He’s also used the space to satirize the president, at one point holding a Trump portrait contest, which came in response to the president taking issue with a portrait of him in the Colorado State Capitol. Moore told his followers he was “impressed” with how many turned Trump’s “mouth and face” into a “literal butthole.”
