‘Thank You Trump! Thank You Trump!’ Hostage Square Bursts Into Pro-Trump Chants Over Peace Deal

A massive crowd at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square on Saturday evening burst into a chant thanking President Donald Trump for brokering a peace deal between Israel and Hamas that will have 48 hostages released next week.

“Thank you, Trump! Thank you, Trump! Thank you, Trump!” the crowd belted out.

Those chants came between remarks from Steve Witkoff, the president’s special envoy to the Middle East. He was flanked by President Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, who played a key role in getting the Israel-Hamas deal done. Out of the 48 hostages remaining, 20 are believed to be alive.

“To President Donald J. Trump, a man who is a humanitarian through and through, with the indomitable spirit who once again proved that bold leadership and moral clarity can reshape history and change the world,” Witkoff told the crowd, right after it shouted its appreciation for the commander-in-chief. “We all owe a debt of gratitude to President Trump.”

Hundreds of thousands of people turned out for the event, which comes a little more than two years after terrorists broke into Israel from Gaza and killed 1,200 people and took hundreds of hostages. It also comes before the hostages are set to be released on Monday as part of a peace deal between Israel and Hamas.

Witkoff also applauded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his staff, saying they had “given everything — their time, energy, and their hearts, to building a safer, stronger future for the Jewish people.”

A few minutes later, Kushner addressed the crowd. He said he will not celebrate until Monday, when the hostages have officially made it home.

“What I did come here tonight to say was that I could not be more proud to see the way that the State of Israel and its people have carried themselves through this traumatic, unthinkable, horrific experience,” Kushner said. “Instead of replicating the barbarism of the enemy, you chose to be exceptional. You chose to stand for the values that you stand for, and I could not be more proud to be a friend of Israel.”
