Trump Crowd Jeers Woman He Sexually Abused and Defamed — As Trump Rants Attacks That Got Him Busted In First Place
A crowd of fans jeered as former President Donald Trump attacked E. Jean Carroll — whom a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming — in many of the same ways that got him sued in the first place.
Trump was in court last week for the trial that will decide how much money Trump will have to pay Carroll — who is seeking $10 million in damages — for defaming her while he was president. That’s on top of the $5 million she was awarded in the first trial she won against Trump and includes additional damages for statements he made in a CNN town hall.
But that didn’t stop him from making many of the same statements that the court has already found to be defamatory when he spoke at a rally in Rochester, New Hampshire, Sunday — right after the news that chief national rival Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) had dropped out and endorsed him.
The crowd ate it up, and jeered Carroll:
DONALD TRUMP: They are weaponizing law enforcement at a level like never before, and it’s all high level election interference. They’re interfering tomorrow. You know where I’m going to be. I don’t have to be there, but I want to be there because otherwise I can’t get a fair shake. I’m going to be in court. Democrat.
CROWD: (BOOS AND JEERS).
DONALD TRUMP: Okay. So. So I go there tomorrow morning, leave early or tonight I think. I’m leaving late, I leave late.
WOMAN IN CROWD: Praying for you…
Thank you. She said I’m praying I could use your prayers. Okay? No, but look, it is what it is. These are crooked people. These are corrupt people.
VARIOUS PEOPLE IN CROWD: EVIL! EVIL!
DONALD TRUMP: These are corrupt people. But I’m going for a trial tomorrow. All done by political operative Reid Hoffman is sponsoring this woman. That’s a terrible things from 30 years ago. He took me. I own 3 or 4 buildings around it. I owned the hotel next to it. They took a totally fabricated story. It’s all fabricated!
And the lawyer is a political operative who used to be very close to Cuomo. Do you ever hear of Cuomo?
CROWD: (JEERING).
DONALD TRUMP: And– a political operative? Then you find out they funded. And we had a special session on funding. When the judge found out that it was true that they are funding it, he would let it as evidence. But that’s okay.
So I go there, I’ll spend time there, and then I come back here. Who else would do this? I’ve been doing this now, and that’s exactly–.
Now. Here’s the thing. Think of this. The day of your primary, right? The day of your primary. I have a case which is brought the day before Super Tuesday. Super Tuesday is a big deal. I have another case that’s brought just before Iowa, just before Iowa, and it’s a disgrace.
I have like eight of them. Civil cases, all kinds of cases. We got every there is no, there is. This is equal opportunity. We have every kind of case you could have.
Trump and his attorney have been forbidden from arguing in court that he did not rape Ms. Carroll.
