Trump Hammers Putin For Throwing ‘A Lot of Bullsh*t At Us’: ‘Nice All the Time, But Turns Out To Be Meaningless’
President Donald Trump blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin for throwing “a lot of bullshit at us” while also calling his interactions with the world leader “nice.”
During a White House cabinet meeting Tuesday, Trump echoed his want for the Russian invasion of Ukraine to end soon, saying he’s “not happy” with Putin at the moment. Trump told reporters that the exit from Afghanistan — which saw more than 10 service members lose their lives — presented an opportunity for Putin when it came to invading Ukraine.
“I think that had you not had the situation in Afghanistan, I don’t think Putin would have gone in. I think Putin looked at how stupid and incompetent that operation was. He said wow, this might be a chance. We’re dealing with him now, too. We’re not happy with Putin. I’m not happy with Putin. I can tell you that much right now. He’s killing a lot of people. A lot of them are his soldiers. His soldiers and [Ukrainian] soldiers, mostly. It’s now up to 7,000 a week,” Trump said.
This followed the president announcing that the United States is sending more weapons to Ukraine as the country is being “hit very hard” by Russia.
“We get a lot bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth. He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless,” Trump said on Tuesday.
The president said he is open to signing a sanctions bill from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) against Russia and Putin.
“It’s an optional bill. It’s totally at my option,” he said. “They pass it totally at my option and determine it totally at my option, and I’m looking at it very strongly.”
