Trump Makes Shocking Claim When Reporter Asks If He’s Named In the Epstein Files

President Donald Trump made the shocking claim that former President Barack Obama and former FBI Director James Comey “made up” the Jeffrey Epstein files, when confronted by a reporter on Tuesday as to whether his name appears anywhere in them.

Speaking with reporters outside the White House Tuesday, the president was asked about a comment made by his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump — who contradicted the message from Attorney General Pam Bondi by vowing there will be “more transparency” from the administration on the Epstein probe.

Trump responded to the reporter’s question by doubling down on his support for Bondi — who has come under a ton of criticism from the MAGA base.

“The Attorney General has handled that very well,” Trump said. “She has really done a very good job. And I think that when you look at it, you’ll understand that. I would like to see [transparency] also. But I think the Attorney General — the credibility is very important. And you want credible evidence for something like that. And I think the attorney general has handled it very well.”

Another reporter then followed up by confronting Trump directly about whether he is named in the DOJ’s files on Epstein.

“What did [Bondi] tell about the [DOJ] review [on Epstein] — and specifically, did she tell you at all that your name appeared in the files?” The reporter asked.

In response, Trump re-upped the bizarre claim that former President Obama and former FBI Director James Comey fabricated the information in the DOJ’s file, a point he initially raised in a controversial Saturday night Truth Social post.

“No, no,” Trump said. “She’s given us just a very quick briefing. And in terms of the credibility of the different things that they’ve seen. And I would say that these files were made up by Comey, they were made by Obama, they were made up by the Biden [administration]. And we went through years of that with the Russia Russia Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through. We’ve gone through years of it.”

Trump closed by stating that Bondi should release additional information on the probe — contrary to what the DOJ and FBI said they would do in their unsigned memo from last week.

“She’s handled it very well, and it’s going to be up to her,” Trump said. “Whatever she thinks is credible she should release.”
