WATCH: Frontier Jet Catches Fire During ‘Hard Landing’ at Las Vegas Airport
Fire and smoke could be seen coming from a Frontier jet Sunday afternoon after it landed at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
It was not immediately clear what caused the mishap but CBS News reported jet caught fire after a “hard landing” in Sin City, citing a statement from the airline.
X (formerly Twitter) user Tyler Herrick shared a clip of the landing on the platform:
Frontier told CBS News, “Frontier flight 1326 experienced a hard landing. The Clark County Fire Department responded immediately and all passengers and crew have been safely transported to the gated area. No injuries were reported.”
8 News Now in Vegas reported the flight departed San Diego at 1:51 p.m. and touched down just off the Strip at 3:37 p.m. The plane’s passengers were all transported tot he airport terminal by bus.
Ironically, just hours before the plane caught fire on the runway, Clark County announced that this week marked the beginning of a county-wide fire prevention week.
