Two men at a McDonald’s in Melbourne, Australia, took it upon themselves to stop an allegedly abusive customer from hurling insults and spitting on a female employee.

American country music star Drew Baldridge posted video of the incident to Instagram. He had stopped at the McDonald’s while touring Australia with singer/songwriter Jason Bradley DeFord, better known as Jelly Roll.

On his post, Baldridge recounted the incident, saying, “So, the other night, we were in a Melbourne McDonald’s, this dude comes in. I don’t know what he was on, but he goes up to the girl at the desk taking the order. And he said, ‘F-you, you dumb B.’ He probably said it like five times, and I was starting to get frustrated.”

“And I was like, ‘Bro. You need to calm down. Like, you know, don’t talk to women like that.’ Then he spit on her. Spit on a woman because his order wasn’t right? I don’t know what it was. And about this time another dude come over and he said, ‘We don’t talk to women like that.’ And before I know it these dudes got this dude on the ground,” recalled Baldridge. “And the guys were holding him down saying, ‘Wrong country to abuse women. Wrong country if you wanna abuse women, Mate.'”

Baldridge praised the two men for coming to the woman’s aid and pinning the alleged assailant to the ground. Baldridge called it “so inspiring to watch these dudes stand up for this woman.”

He added, “I just think our country needs more of that. And a lot of people are not going to talk about this, and you’re going to see, ‘That’s the wrong way to do it; you shouldn’t fight.’ But sometimes you gotta know when to fight.”

Although it’s unclear when the incident actually happened, the New York Post reported that Baldridge played two shows at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on October 28 and 29.
