‘You Want More People to Die?’ Fox News Panel Descends Into Shouting Match Over Immigration Bill

A discussion on the death of a University of Georgia nursing student allegedly killed by a man who illegally entered in the U.S. devolved into a shouting match on Fox News Monday.

It began when Outnumbered’s Kayleigh McEnany asked Fox News contributor Marie Harf if Democrats regretted saying the southern border was secure following the murder of 22-year old Laken Riley. The suspect in custody is 26-year old Jose Antonio Ibarra, who crossed into the U.S. illegally in 2022, according to ICE.

Harf began, “I think the Democrats have increasingly realized that this is not just a political problem, this is a security problem, sort of a problem across the board,” She continued:

HARF: What they would say to you today, in the last month Joe Biden has proposed the strongest immigration bill that any Democrat in history has ever supported. Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill negotiated it together and the far right wing of the Republican Party said — Let me finish, Kayleigh!

MCENANY:  He dismantled Trump’s immigration policy! Ninety-four executive actions. Why not pick up a pen? It’s very easy, I have one here, I’ll loan it to the president. Take executive action. A girl is dead!

HARF: It is so much more effective across the board if we can get comprehensive immigration reform done in Congress.

FAULKNER: Maybe we can’t wait that long.

HARF: But, Harris, why is it that Republicans have said they don’t want to sign this? Because Donald Trump publicly told them not to.

FAULKNER: Oh, by the way, had on Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) last hour, HR-2 was in the Senate in May of last year. They’ve had 80 meetings!

HARF: What about the current bill? What about the current bill?

FAULKNER: No!

At one point, Faulkner repeated her assertion that time was of the essence as Harf argued in favor of waiting for Biden’s bill that remains in limbo in Congress.

“How long can you wait?” Faulkner asked. “Do you want more people to die?”
