Former CNN anchor Don Lemon shared that he has “cut the cord” since his ouster from CNN and named a politically diverse slew of streaming favorites when asked what news he’s been consuming.
Lemon’s blurb, revealed in a year-end list put together by Puck, made clear he was eager to look outside of “corporate media” to get his news and entertainment — and that his streaming diet leaned more right than left. He named a couple of known conservatives — including Ben Shapiro and the PDB podcast hosted by Patrick Bet-David. He also touted Piers Morgan’s Fox Nation show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, as featuring “very real, authentic conversations you don’t get in corporate media.”
But his choices also include the Pivot podcast hosted by Kara Swisher (who interviewed him following the ouster of former CNN CEO Chris Licht, who was the one who fired Lemon). Another left-leaning choice: Pod Save America, hosted by Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor, all of whom served as aides to former President Barack Obama.
Here’s what else Lemon shared:
Since leaving corporate media I cut the cord. I have an extensive, eclectic streaming palate now: Fellow Travelers on Showtime; PBD Podcast (it’s very conservative); The Ben Shapiro Show (I want to hear his take on Israel); Pivot (of course); Piers Morgan Uncensored (very real, authentic conversations you don’t get in corporate media); Pod Save America (obvi); The Daily (every single day); Smartless (the best); The Adam Friedland Show (smart, irreverent, funny; download the Chet Hanks episode for evidence).
