Bannon Rages at Speaker Johnson For Saying God Chose Biden to Lead: ‘Have You Lost Your Freaking Mind?’

Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon tore into House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Wednesday after he told a reporter that he did indeed believe President Joe Biden was chosen by God to lead the U.S.

“Do we have that clip from Johnson saying about, uh, Biden being the will of God? Yo, bro, get focused here. Johnson needs some help,” Bannon began on his far-right War Room podcast.

“Be prepared to have your heads blow up. Let’s go ahead and hear it,” Bannon said before rolling the clip from earlier in the day.

“Do you believe that Joe Biden’s presidency is God’s will?” a Capitol Hill reporter asked in the clip, to which Johnson replied:

Is Joe Biden’s presidency God’s will? Oh, I know where you’re going with this. Okay, so I said I said in my speech, uh, before I took the gavel, um, that look, I’m a Bible-believing Christian, right? Bible-believing Christian believes what the Bible says, right? The Bible says that, uh, God is the one that raises up people in authority. I believe God is sovereign, by the way, so did the founders. I quoted the Declaration of Independence pledge that our rights don’t come from government, they’ve come from God, and we’re made in his image.

Everybody’s made the same. We all are given equal rights and value, and that’s something that we defend. So if you believe all those things, uh, then do you believe that God is the one that allows people to be raised in authority? Uh, admit there must have been God’s will then, uh, that’s my belief, right? Uh, but, uh, I think that.

“Yeah. Dude, he’s an illegitimate president,” Bannon reacted, repeating the widely debunked claim that the 2020 election was stolen. Bannon continued:

Have you lost your freaking mind? This election was stolen. Don’t, don’t start giving me. Don’t go, don’t be a theologian. I don’t need a theologian, I need a speaker of the House. That’s what the country needs. Joe Biden’s not a legitimate president of the United States, note to the speaker, so no, God did not raise him up.
