CNN’s Kaitlin Collins Reveals What Staffers Dread Most About Traveling With Trump

CNN’s chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins has offered a revealing glimpse into what staffers dread most about traveling with President Donald Trump – the fact that he “does not sleep.”

Speaking on Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast on Monday, Collins said she had heard first-hand accounts from Trump aides about the exhaustion of working in his orbit.

“He does not sleep,” Collins said, adding: “Trump is just always up and talking, and he’ll like have them go wake staff up if they’re asleep because he wants to talk to them.”

The remarks came as the pair discussed their own struggle with sleep. Tartick said that on a recent tour of the Fox News studios, ahead of an appearance on Fox & Friends, a producer told him: “None of us are sleeping because the president doesn’t sleep.”

“We’re all working two times right now,” the producer told him.

Collins recalled one source describing the dread of joining Trump on long-haul trips aboard Air Force One.

“You never want to be on Air Force One on a trip,” she said the source told her.

Looking ahead at the president’s upcoming trip to Southeast Asia, Collins said: “We have this big trip to Asia coming up and you’re just, you’re not gonna sleep on that flight.”
